History
Earthwalk Orthotics was founded in 1995 by current president/owner Susan L. Boren. She envisioned a company built on three fundamental keys: quality, service, and value; characteristics she felt lacked in many large, modern-day corporations:

• Quality – A more patient-specific orthotic is fabricated through a digital, direct-milled process. Only the newest high-tech materials are used for the best possible results.  Less remakes and adjustments means less time spent with orthotic problem-solving, and more time spent seeing new patients and in-office procedures.
• Service – Earthwalk encourages the prescribing physician to discuss each and every case with one of our two Certified Pedorthists (CPed) who are aware of the many products and design features specific to your patients needs.  Our job is to serve you.
• Value – Modest pricing allows you order prescription orthotics at a fair and reasonable cost, making orthotic dispensing a true revenue-builder for your practice.
  

Susan instilled a company precedent, guaranteeing that every medical professional would have the option of exclusive individualized service; allowing practitioners to discuss each and every case with a vested company executive. This cornerstone philosophy insured medical professionals that they would receive only the in finest customer-care and product quality.

By 1997, the company looked towards innovative advancements in orthotic production. The company invested in the most sophisticated Automated Orthotic Manufacturing System (AMOS) available in the marketplace. This software, written to digitally replicate Dr. Merton Root’s method of manual cast dressing, enabled the company to create prescription, patient-specific orthotic with precision accuracy, reducing the number of remakes and adjustments medical professionals typically encounter. After rapid growth throughout the 90’s and new millennium, Earthwalk Orthotics Inc. has established itself as a leader within the industry. While continually growing, Earthwalk has not lost sight of what has made the company a success.

Products & Materials
Earthwalk offers a wide range of functional, accommodative, sport, and diabetic orthoses; all designed to target biomechanical deformities unique to individual pathologies. We have built a reputation for doing the tough stuff – in-tune with the special needs of the at-risk patient. Theraflex, our prescription diabetic orthotic has received notoriety due to its unique, lightweight design (<2 oz.) and makes it an ideal choice for the diabetic, brittle arthritics, patients with ulcerated plantar lesions, Charcot deformities, and diabetic amputees. It has set the standard as an L-5000 prosthetic. 

The key to consistent and reliable product rests with our experienced, digital cast prep technicians. The materials Earthwalk offers are newer alternatives to traditional, orthotic choices.  They have each been run through a battery of laboratory tests to define their functionality, and field-tested to determine their wear ability and reliability.  Whenever possible, we choose materials that are lightweight, durable, and hypoallergenic; can be wiped clean with a damp, soapy cloth, and can also be regenerated with a warm-air flow (like the heat from a blow dryer).  Every Earthwalk device has been assigned an appropriate topcover, however as a custom lab, we often interchange these materials to match your patient’s special needs.
